Are they ceramics, are they fine art? Derek names one “Vase” and another “Ceramic Sculpture”. The galleries certainly are perplexed, when he takes them up to London. Slip cast conjures up ideas of factory production, and not being entirely functional makes them tricky for his usual outlets. It is only Henry Rothschild, that readily accepts Derek’s new work, showing it in his Primavera Gallery, London.
